came to live with us when he was 12 weeks old. A little late, some
would say, for a puppy to go to his new home. The reason was that
I had recently lost Monza, my first Spinone and my soul mate, and
was so heart broken I swore I wouldn't have another dog. However,
Jabba had other ideas, he pined so much after Monza died he made
himself quite ill so I relented and Lando came to stay.
He was very slow maturing, and still wasn't fully mature when
he died, but he did his fare share of winning in the show ring.
At open shows he had many Best Puppy and Best of Breed awards
as well as a Puppy Group 2, a Group 2 and Group 1. Only lightly
shown at Championship shows he won well to take 3 Best puppy awards,
and 3 Reserve Challenge Certificates. He was Reserve Best in Show
at the ISCGB Open Show 2001 and Best in Show in 2002.
was diagnosed with a malignant type of cancer in his top jaw in
October 2002 and to save him from more pain I had to say goodbye
to him in June 2003. He was a true gentleman, his temperament
was 110% and except for his lack of interest in food which, at
times, drove me to distraction, he was an absolute joy to live
with. Very much missed, very much loved.
